Opened in March 2005, Atomic Testing Museum is located just about one mile from the Las Vegas Strip.
Nuclear development is one of the most important aspects of human history. The nuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site 65 miles north of Las Vegas from 1951 to 1992 has contributed to the country and the entire world.
This is a important piece of history which is worth to be preserved.
The Atomic Testing Museum does not take a stand on the morality of nuclear testing. They are not in favor or against. They just document what took place here.
Compared with most museums, the Atomic Testing Museum is small. But this one of its kind museum is a must see if you are interested in history of nuclear age. Adults and older children will enjoy more at this museum. Many parents also bring their young kids to visit it.
Museum is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays, 1-5 p.m. Sundays. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. General admission is $12.
